Sam Awada MD, FAAFM, FACGS, MACGS
Dr. Sam Awada is a board-certified and formally trained Family Medicine, Critical Care, and Urgent Care physician with over 25 years of comprehensive clinical experience. He brings a depth of knowledge and leadership that reflects both academic distinction and real-world expertise across multiple care settings.
Throughout his career, Dr. Awada has received numerous professional accolades. He previously served for many years as Chief of Family Practice at Ascension Health, where he played a pivotal role in advancing clinical standards and physician leadership initiatives. In addition, he has served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Clinical Clerkship Director for third- and fourth-year medical students at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, contributing significantly to medical education and physician mentorship.
In 2024, Dr. Awada was honored with the Top Doctor Award, recognized by his peers as a leading physician in his field for clinical excellence, leadership, and dedication to patient care.
He currently serves in a senior leadership capacity as Head Section and Chief Director of Urgent Care Specialty Services and Family Medicine at 24 Hour Lifeline Urgent Care and Family Medicine, where he oversees clinical operations, quality initiatives, and specialty service development.
Dr. Awada has also spearheaded Annual Updates in Primary Care at Ascension Health, organizing and leading high-level Continuing Medical Education forums. These programs brought together distinguished national speakers and healthcare leaders, with Dr. Awada serving as both organizer and keynote presenter, reinforcing his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and elevating standards of care.
